Boxing at Hertford Combat Academy

Our boxing classes are open to all levels — whether you’re a complete beginner or have previous experience. Each session is designed to improve your boxing skills, fitness, and confidence in a friendly and supportive environment.

What our classes focus on:

  • Functional fitness

  • Footwork

  • Head movement

  • Defensive techniques

  • Punching combinations

Classes typically include a mix of functional fitness, pad work, bag work, partner drills, and controlled sparring.

New to boxing?
Sparring is completely optional for beginners. You’ll only take part when you feel ready, and your instructor will support you when that time comes. If you do choose to spar, a gum shield is required for safety.

We have gloves available to borrow for your first few sessions, but if you plan to train regularly, we recommend investing in your own. Your coach will be happy to advise you on the right type of gloves to purchase.
