Andy Newell is the founder and head coach at Hertford Combat Academy, which he established in 2014. With over 25 years of hands-on experience in Muay Thai — training, coaching, and competing — Andy brings unmatched expertise and passion to the gym. His fighting career took him to Thailand, where he faced some of the sport's most respected opponents, including Nong Toom at the world-renowned Rajadamnern Stadium.
Since retiring from competition in 2005, Andy has focused entirely on coaching the next generation of athletes. Under his leadership, HCA has become a thriving and respected training environment, with a strong team culture at its core. He has developed a successful stable of fighters who now compete — and win — on top-level shows across the UK and internationally.
Andy’s commitment to his students and his craft is evident in everything he does. His enthusiasm for Muay Thai and high-performance training is contagious, and the results speak for themselves, with multiple national and international titles held by the club.
