CLUB RULES

  • All users must complete a Par Q before training. Ask an instructor if you have not completed a Par Q and they will help you.

  • Abusive behaviour towards instructors or other users will not be tolerated, and you may be asked to leave.

  • Respect all users and treat others as you would like to be treated.

  • Train respectfully. We are all on the same team at HCA. We train hard but we train with control. If people get hurt you have less training partners and you don’t improve. If you want to fight, speak with your instructor about upcoming events, competitions or inter-clubs. Training sessions are not the place to come to fight!

  • BE ON TIME! you should turn up at least 5 mins before the class starts. Turning up late can be disruptive for the instructor and other particpants.

  • No footwear to be worn on the mats at any time.

  • No bare feet off of the mats.

  • No bags, coats or personal belongings to be left in the gym, please use the changing rooms.

  • Remove all jewellery and watches before stepping on to the mats.

  • Ensure that you have the correct equipment for each class. Speak to an instructor if you are unsure.

  • When taking part in Muay Thai sparring sessions you MUST wear a gum shield.

HYGIENE

Personal Hygiene is essential in any martial arts gym to avoid the transfer of skin diseases, illnesses and for everyones comfort. If the instructors feel that you are not complying with the hygiene rules then you may be asked to stop training.

  • Do not train if you are sick. Passing on coughs, colds and illness to training partners is not acceptable.

  • Do not train if you have any new unidentified rashes or skin markings. Ringworm, staph, impetigo and other skin irritations can spread like wild fire through a gym.

  • Keep finger and toe nails clipped or trimmed.

  • Wash your kit in between every session. Do not turn up to train with dirty, sweaty, smelly kit.

  • Shower before class. Do not turn up dirty and smelly straight from work. Would you want to train with a dirty, smelly training partner?

  • When training BJJ you need to wear a T shirt or rash guard for both Gi and no Gi sessions.
